MME 2016 will be held at the CIT Cork School of Music. Located within the centre of Cork City and overlooking the River Lee, this five-story, 12,000 sq.m., building functions as a centre of musical excellence locally, regionally, nationally and internationally. The school accommodates music tuition studios; a 450 seat rehearsal hall; theatres; staff and student common rooms; music library; live recording suites; drama suite; staff boardrooms; administrative offices. After opening in 2007, the School purchased 54 baby grand pianos costing over €3M - the single biggest order of baby grands in the 170-year-old history of the world famous Steinway company.

The heart of the building is a public concourse that connects the teaching, performance and administrative spaces. This open space will be used for the MME poster sessions, and will enable the co-location of posters, exhibitor space and catering facilities. Flash talks will be held in the Curtis Auditorium - a purpose-built concert theatre, complete with pipe organ as a rather unusual speaker backdrop! We expect that the building layout will enable lively and informal networking sessions and discussions.

CIT Cork School of Music is just minutes on foot from hotels, pubs and restaurants, and the city’s shopping districts.
